This exhibition features three recent photographic surveys, a photographic initiative that is equally artistic and historical, recently created by the City of Geneva and conserved in the collections of the Centre d'iconographie de la Bibliothèque de Genève. In 2016, the City of Geneva launched its annual photographic survey. This major commission is entrusted to a photographer living in the canton, through the lens of a theme chosen for a period of three years. This heritage initiative contributes to the documentation of the region and supports Geneva's professionals active in the field of documentary photography.
Resulting from a close collaboration between the Centre d'iconographie de la Bibliothèque de Genève and Centre de la photographie Genève, this exhibition will present the photographic surveys carried out by Geneva artists Zoé Aubry, Gabriela Löffel and Laurence Rasti between 2019 and 2021, on the theme of mobility. Their three projects, which deal in particular with the movement of people and the organisation of migratory flows, as well as the transformations of the body itself, take a lucid, committed and critical look at the implications of migration policies and social injunctions on the appearance of the body.
