Quentin Lazzareschi is a multidisciplinary designer and researcher whose work explores representations of evolving territories through narratives, fiction, and environmental foresight. Enrolled in a DSRA, he is associated with the Effondrement des Alpes (Collapse of the Alps) project led by the École supérieure d’Art d’Annecy Alpes. His research focuses on the cultural consequences of climate change and the evolution of mountain activities, employing transdisciplinary approaches that blend design, visual anthropology, and critical ecology.
He is particularly interested in the operative role of images in shaping collective imaginaries and their influence on representations of landscapes and transforming spaces. Leveraging their speculative potential, he investigates possible futures for vulnerable environments.
In parallel, he co-founded Subplots, a design experimentation studio with Jacob Bertilsson. This platform investigates intersections between technology, fiction, and environmental planning, developing alternative narratives and tools to rethink human-environment interactions.
Climbing and mountaineering play a significant role in his life, and he integrates this hands-on approach into his research, enriching his reflections on ways of inhabiting landscapes. He lives and works in the hinterland of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes region.
