In 1983, two books were published under the title “Ich trage ein Herz mit mir herum” with photographs of a Jugendwerkhof (a place for difficult young people in the former GDR) and punks in Berlin. Punk portrait exhibitions were banned or closed in East Germany in the late 1980s. In 1988, she made study trips to Algeria and Russia and in 1990 she opened the photo transit agency in Leipzig.
